All About Our Rotary Scraper Blades

Rotary Knives and Scraper Blades
A typical rotary moulder will feature a scraper blade, which can be used as part of a filtering system to prevent machines from clogging. It redirects the necessary matter into a discharge chute by removing any unwanted solids. To function in the best way, it is necessary for the blade to be as sharp as possible. However, it is also required that the tip should not be so thin that it will cut metal. It should run against the roller to prevent any damage. There are additional considerations when using a rotary moulder, which we can help you with when fitting your blades.
Adjustable
It is possible to adjust the scraper blade in its position, for example where it is on a moulding roller. The manner in which this is achieved is different, depending on the moulder. For optimum use, you would want it to move tangentially with the surface of the moulding roll. It is also possible to reduce and increase the knife advance rate to use a tighter grade of filter aid.
Applications
Scraper blades can be supplied as part of our tea bag knife range, where we have many other kinds especially used for tea packaging processes. They are useful for filtration systems for many other applications, for example within the food industry, where it may be necessary to remove chocolate and other sticky substances to prevent clogging and keep your machinery running smoothly. Alternatively, these scraping tools may be used to remove a wide variety of materials such as adhesives, lacquers, and sealants.

We can offer blades in our PowerEdge EXP500 HPS Steel, which is proven to increase the life of the blade between 10-15 times. Additionally, we provide our customers with a regrinding service, to refurbish your knives to the best possible condition, using the original machine specifications. Your blades will be easy to install, ensuring the least amount of time is lost so that you can continue with your high production levels.
