    Uses for Serrated Machine Knives

Serrated machine knives offer the horizontal and vertical form fill sealing equipment in a variety of styles, including both serrated and toothform packaging blades. They are commonly used for packaging and food machinery and can offer a range of cuts, such as perforating, easy-opening cuts, scalloped styles, and curved-shaped blades. They are used in other industries such as making bags, paper industries, food and product cutting, insulation industries, and more. In the food processing industry, they can be used for bakeries, as well as poultry and meat processing. The options are endless when it comes to using serrated machine blades.

Suited to Your Brand of Machine

At Precision Edge we are able to design and manufacture our serrated blades to suit a very wide range of brands. These include Bosch, Ilapak, Ishida, Fuji, Rovema and more. Make sure to specify which brand would suit your requirements, and we are sure to be able to match the standards of your machine, and in most cases, are able to offer technical improvements over the OEM specifications. They are available with a range of tooth profiles, for example rake toothed profiles like a wood saw, or crenulated (small rounded teeth) or bevelled teeth (in a V shape).

    Custom Blade Designs

Whether you need an angular or serrated configuration, at Precision Edge, we are able to offer our clients custom blade designs made up to 1500mm. We pride ourselves on offering a bespoke service to make sure that we can manufacture the idea knives and blades to suit your machinery equipment. Serrated machine knives are usually ground just on one side, giving them an added sharpness, with the cutting edge hidden inside each mini-arch, the pointed outer edge of the blade offering protection.

    Refurbishment and Regrinding

We are also able to help with the refurbishment and regrinding of serrated blades in order to maintain and extend the life of your knives. This involves re-sharpening the blades, regrinding each tooth to bring it back to its original condition, removing minimum material, whilst keeping to OEM specified tolerances, which is often an economical option.
